Fun and Romantic Summer Wedding at The Brookside in Knoxville, Tennessee
Pink dresses, navy suits, happy tears, plenty of laughter, and a cherry-covered wedding cake — Reilly and Aiden’s June wedding at The Brookside in Knoxville, Tennessee was equal parts romantic and ridiculously fun.
Their day had all the beautiful details you’d expect from a summer wedding, but what made it stand out was how much personality was woven into every part of it. Nothing felt overly serious or too perfectly polished. Instead, the day felt relaxed, colorful, emotional, and completely true to the two of them.
From Reilly getting ready with her girls and having a small dance party and Aiden sharing an emotional first look with his mom to a bridal party dressed in the prettiest shades of pink, there was always something worth photographing.
And by the time we got to the cherries, direct flash, and the two of them having entirely too much fun in front of my camera, I knew this was going to be one of those galleries that told their story exactly the way I love to tell a wedding day: a little bit of pretty, a little bit chaotic, and full of real moments.
A Summer Wedding at The Brookside in Knoxville
Located in Knoxville, The Brookside gave us a beautiful neutral backdrop for Reilly and Aiden’s summer wedding. The modern setting worked especially well with their palette of soft pinks, fresh greens, crisp whites, and navy blue.
One of my favorite choices was the bridesmaid dresses. Instead of everyone wearing exactly the same gown, Reilly’s girls wore different shades, fabrics and silhouettes of pink. The variation gave the bridal party so much visual interest while still looking cohesive - and photographed SO well.
Aiden and his groomsmen kept things classic with navy suits, light pink ties, and brown shoes. Together, the entire wedding party looked perfectly suited for a June wedding in Knoxville.
Sweet Moments Before the Ceremony
Some of the best parts of a wedding day happen before the ceremony even begins.
While everyone is getting dressed, fixing the last few details, laughing with friends, and trying to keep the nerves under control, there are so many little moments unfolding at once. Those are the photographs that help tell the whole story of a wedding day - not just the big moments everyone expects.
Reilly spent the morning surrounded by her girls, and there was no shortage of laughter. Meanwhile, Aiden shared an emotional first look with his mom that deserved a permanent place in their wedding gallery.
It’s moments like these that I’m always watching for as a wedding photographer. The posed portraits are beautiful, but the hug you didn’t plan, your mom trying not to cry, or your best friends dancing around you while you’re getting ready? Those are often the photographs that mean even more as the years go by.
Reilly’s Classic Bridal Look
Reilly was absolutely stunning in a sleek, timeless wedding gown paired with a long, delicate veil.
Her bridal look was simple in the very best way. The clean silhouette of her dress let her be the focus, while her bouquet brought in the soft pink, white, and green tones seen throughout the rest of the wedding.
We made time for bridal portraits around The Brookside before moving into the rest of the day, and the neutral exterior of the venue gave us the perfect backdrop. The result was a collection of portraits that feel bright, romantic, and timeless without losing the relaxed personality of the day.
Pink Bridesmaid Dresses Made for a Summer Wedding
Can we have a moment for this bridal party?
Instead of putting every bridesmaid in exactly the same dress, Reilly chose a mix of pink gowns in different silhouettes and textures. From soft blush to brighter shades of pink, the variation photographed beautifully and gave the entire wedding a little extra personality.
And while we absolutely got the traditional everybody-looking-at-the-camera photograph, we also made room for movement, laughter, and the girls simply having fun together.

Romantic Details With a Playful Twist
Reilly and Aiden’s wedding was a perfect example of how you can have a romantic wedding without making every detail overly serious.
Their day incorporated delicate jewelry, soft florals and traditional bridal details alongside fun little touches that made everything feel more personal.
And then there was the cake.
Their vintage-inspired white wedding cake was covered in intricate piping and topped with bright red cherries and delicate swan details. Against the otherwise soft color palette, those pops of red were SO much fun - and gave us one of the cutest details from the entire wedding.
Of course, the cherries weren’t only for decoration.
Reilly and Aiden turned them into one of my favorite playful portraits of the day, and it perfectly sums up their wedding: romantic, a little unexpected, and completely willing to have fun.
Wedding Photos That Actually Feel Like Your Wedding Day
One thing I want my couples to remember is that beautiful wedding photography doesn’t mean spending your entire wedding day standing perfectly still and smiling at a camera.
We’ll get the photographs your parents and grandparents want to frame. We’ll get the wedding party lined up and looking fabulous. We’ll photograph the rings, flowers, dress, cake and all those details you spent months choosing.
But we’re also going to leave room for the good stuff.
