An East Tennessee Summer Wedding at The Farm at Bentley Fields
There’s something extra special about a summer wedding in East Tennessee - the rolling green landscapes, long golden evenings, and that unmistakable warmth that makes the entire day feel a little more magical. Braelyn and Skyler’s June wedding at The Farm at Bentley Fields in Newport, Tennessee had all of that and more.
From the quiet moments of getting ready to a celebration surrounded by the people they love most, their wedding day was full of genuiune emotion, beautiful details, and plenty of moments worth remembering.
As an East Tennessee wedding photographer, these are the kinds of days I love getting to document: beautiful, of course, but even more importantly, completely true to the couple at the center of it all.
A June Wedding at The Farm at Bentley Fields
Located in Newport, Tennessee, The Farm at Bentley Fields provided a gorgeous setting for Braelyn and Skyler’s summer wedding. The surrounding East Tennessee scenery created a relaxed, romantic backdrop for the day and gave us plenty of beautiful spaces for wedding portraits.
June in Tennessee means everything is lush and green, which photographed beautifully against all of the wedding-day details. From wide, scenic portraits to smaller in-between moments, the venue gave us so much variety without ever having to leave the property.
And when you have a setting like this, sometimes the best thing you can do is let it speak for itself.
Braelyn and Skyler’s East Tennessee Wedding Day
One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is watching the day unfold beyond the planned moments.
Of course, there are the big ones - the dress, the ceremony, the first kiss, the portraits and the reception - but some of my favorite photographs almost always happen somewhere in between.
A nervous laugh before walking down the aisle. Someone wiping away a tear. A quick glance across the room. The way newlyweds look at each other when they finally have a second to realize, we actually did it.
Braelyn and Skyler’s wedding was filled with those kinds of moments, and those are the photographs that help tell the complete story of a wedding day.
Summer Wedding Photos in Newport, Tennessee
One of the biggest advantages of a summer wedding in East Tennessee is the amount of beautiful natural light we have to work with later in the day.
As the afternoon light begins to soften, it creates the perfect opportunity to sneak away for a few additional portraits. These few minutes together also give couples a chance to step away from the excitement of the reception, breate for a second, and actually take in the fact that they’re married.
I always want portraits to feel like you rather than an endless series of stiff poses. A little direction goes a long way, but some of the best photographs happen when you’re simply interacting with the person you just married.
Those genuine laughs, little looks and imperfectly perfect moments are the ones I want you to be able to look back on years from now and immediately remember how the day felt, not just what it looked like.
Why I Love Photographing Weddings in East Tennessee
After photographing weddings for more than a decade, I still don’t think East Tennessee wedding days ever get old.
We have mountains, farmland, gardens, historic venues and some seriously beautiful countryside tucked into this part of Tennessee. Newport is especially convenient for couples who want that peaceful, scenic feeling while still being within reach of Knoxville and the Great Smoky Mountains.
The Farm at Bentley Fields fits beautifully into that landscape and gives couples the kind of setting that feels distinctly East Tennessee.
But no matter how beautiful the venue is, the people will always be what makes a wedding worth photographing.
My goal isn’t simply to create pretty wedding photos. I want to document the hugs, happy tears, ridiculous laughs, quiet moments, and everything else that happens when all of your favorite people are gathered in one place to celebrate you.

Because someday, those might be your favorites.
