Traditonal Lutheran Church Wedding with Stained Glass Cathedral

Madi and Elijah’s wedding at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Tennessee this September was one of the most joyful and memorable weddings that I have ever been a part of.

Madi greeted me at the church with a exuberant smile and big hug! She had everything under control and was unbelievably organized, a girl after my own heart haha! I spent a little while with the bridal party while they finished up getting ready. We were able to grab a few cute photos of them in their matching bridal party pjs before they got in their bridesmaid’s gowns. One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is when the bridal party helps the bride get into her dress, put on her veil and add all of the final touches. The girls were so attentive and supportive on Madi’s big day!

Madi and Elijah chose to do a first look before the ceremony. Madi and I discussed where the best location would be and we both voted for the sanctuary. It was too beautiful and peaceful not to use! Elijah’s face LIT UP when he turned to see Madi. I really don’t think that these two stopped smiling from the moment they saw one another.

It was time for the ceremony to begin. The pews were filled with Madi and Elijah’s friends and family, all there to show their support and love for them. I met with Madi and Elijah about a month or so before their wedding to discuss final details, family photo list and timeline. One thing that they told me was that they had chosen to participate in communion during their ceremony. I love this!

After they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. we took some time to do a few more bride and groom portraits outside of the church. We were blessed with a beautiful day with no rain, so we definitely wanted to take advantage of that. Once their bride and groom portraits were finished up we headed into the reception!

These two know how to party! When I stepped back and looked at the dance floor, it was full of laughter, smiles and priceless dance moves. With the final dance of the night being led by Madi and Elijah, we celebrated their exit with sparklers and cheers.

Elijah and Madi,

Thank you both once again for asking me to be your wedding photographer. When I think back to your wedding all I see are smiles, including my own. You made me feel like a part of your family. I not only feel like I photographed your wedding but I feel like I was blessed enough to also attend your wedding. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, adventures and blessings. Cherish one another every single day.

XO,

B.
